The ePipe ServerWare family of products offers scalable dial-up and broadband
network gateway solutions for small-medium businesses (SMB)s. ePipe’s in-built
feature sets can be easily enabled as your needs change to provide the functionality
of a router, packet filtering firewall, VPN gateway concentrator, and modem
pool in one cost effective solution. ePipe’s capabilities include:
Shared Internet access for your entire office
Packet filtering firewall, robust security features
Secure Remote Access for mobile clients (PPTP server)
Site to Site VPN using IPSec and ePipe’s patent pending End to End bonding (E2B) protocol
Direct dial access for remote workers, and Site to Site direct dial connections
ePipe ServerWare supports up to 10 serial ports, using Stallion Technologies’ Easy IO and Easy Connection products, that are primarily for connecting external analogue modems or ISDN terminal adapters in order to dial ISPs, other networks or allow direct dial-in from remote networks or mobile workers. ePipe ServerWare also supports up to 8 Ethernet segments, 1 will be connected to the LAN while the other 7 may be used for connecting ADSL modems and routers or cable modems to the Internet.
Up to 10 modem or ISDN Internet connections or up to 7 ADSL connections can be bundled into a secure VPN tunnel connecting remote sites through the Internet using ePipe’s unique End-to-End Bonding (E2B). This technology requires the use of ePipe products at both ends of the VPN tunnel.
The Internet connections can also be used for standard Internet-based applications such as web browsing, e-mail, file downloads, etc, using ePipe ServerWare’s Intelligent Internet Bonding (I2B). ePipe ServerWare is an access router, firewall, VPN gateway and bandwidth aggregator in one device. It is all your office needs to get Internet-connected and exploit the wide range of e-business technologies.
ePipe ServerWare is available as Concentrator 10, Concentrator 50, Concentrator 150 and Concentrator 500 models. The Concentrator model number (10, 50, 150 & 500) denotes the number of IPSec tunnels that the software can establish. For example, ePipe ServerWare Concentrator 10 can establish 10 IPSec tunnels, ePipe ServerWare Concentrator 50 can establish 50 IPSec tunnels, etc. The IPSec tunnels may be either Client or Server tunnels.
The Ethernet ports used by ePipe ServerWare may be configured to provide Demilitarised Zones (DMZs) or to establish a flexible array of bandwidth and access control configurations.
ePipe ServerWare’s serial ports can also be used to connect other serial devices to your LAN, including terminals, printers, POS devices, industrial devices, instruments, etc. These serial ports can operate at speeds up to 230 Kbps.
Installation and maintenance is simplified through a browser based configuration tool that is common across the ePipe product range. The ePipe Management Assistant provides a friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI), which allows you to easily configure, monitor and tune your site’s Internet or VPN access from any PC on your LAN. It enables you to easily configure Feature Sets within ePipe ServerWare, as you need them. Guided setup wizards take the mystery out of getting your PCs, modems and ISP accounts to work in tandem with ePipe ServerWare so that you can quickly connect your LAN to the Internet, remote offices or mobile workers. Advanced setup allows networking engineers to configure more complex access scenarios with relative ease.
As your organization’s needs change, you can make greater use of ePipe’s functionality by utilising ePipe ServerWare’s built-in Feature Sets. The Feature Sets are activated by default in the ePipe ServerWare Concentrator products (the features are optional in the ePipe 2000 hardware products).
To accelerate migration of your private LAN to an e-business network, ePipe ServerWare’s feature sets provide the following functionality:-
